I AM SUPPORTED

We're grounding into the third part of our Connect mantra this week....
I AM SUPPORTED

I don't know about you, but my whole body sighs with a sense of relief when I say that statement. I think that's a testament to how much I (and I'd venture a guess to say, Us All) need/desire to feel more support and grounding these days.

For our I AM SUPPORTED thought prompt this week, I'd like to borrow some ideas from Erin Stutland (Mantras in Motion). I think these are really perfect to explore how we can feel more supported in our lives as we begin to reach back out into community connection/support after these past 2 years of largely feeling more isolated. Here are 4 questions to contemplate, journal about, talk with a friend about.

1. Make a list of your interests at this time (anything from self development to cooking to learning a new language!)

2. Get clear what season you are in. (Are you a new parent? Are you single? Have your kids just left home? Are you retired? Knowing what season you are in may help you get clear on the kind of community you are looking for.)

3. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most connected, how connected do you feel to the community where you live?

4. If it's below a 7, spend a few minutes writing down what your ideal community would look and feel like for you. (Would you like to be involved with people once a week? What kind of people are you looking to connect with? How would it make you feel if you truly felt connected to/supported by your community?)

This week in our yoga classes we'll be focusing on movement and restorative practices that calm and ground the nervous system and support us in feeling our best each and every day. Remember, the more connected, supported, and present we feel, the more we are able to show up in our lives, in our communities and for others.

Join me for this short and sweet 7-minute practice. Supported Reclining Rest Pose is a lovely restorative that opens the chest and shoulders, frees the movement of the breath, calms the nervous system, relieves lower back tension and can aid in better sleep.
